The conservation and landscaping works commenced today at the southern tip of the Taman Tugu park site.
The first step in this process is the careful removal of selected non-ethnic rainforest trees. Ornamental trees that are removed will be sent to DBKL nurseries across Kuala Lumpur where it will be tended to until it is ready to be redeployed to other suitable sites.
The southern tip which is situated along Jalan Parlimen covers an area circa 1-acre within which approximately 18 ornamental trees will be removed and no-less than 150 rainforest species trees will be added. Trees to be added include mature trees up to 8-meters in height.
