Date: 4 Oct 2017
Venue: Taman Tugu park site
The Taman Tugu Project team held an engagement session with the Kuala Lumpur running community and running event organisers. The objective of the session was to provide the community with further details of the Taman Tugu Project and to hear their feedback with regards to the project, in particular on the multi-storey carpark at Padang Merbok.
From the feedback received, the Project team will organise another session with the running community to gather their thoughts on the design of the multi-storey carpark once it has been conceptualised. This is to ensure the new carpark is a conducive space to organise marathons and runs. Currently, the Padang Merbok carpark is used as a starting point for various marathons and runs, such as the CIMB Colour Run (13 Aug 2017), Love Myself Run (22 Oct 2017), Allianz Pacesetters (4 Nov 2017), Annual Charity Walk/Jog/Wheel-A-Thon With the Disabled (12 Nov 2017), amongst others.
Engagements like these contribute towards better shaping the elements within the Taman Tugu Project and to ensure the public spaces created are optimally used and do not deter current and prospective users. Sessions like these are held to exchange ideas and better collaborate in conserving our environment and activating public spaces. More discussions will be held with other organisations to ensure inclusivity in the development of the park, connectivity and other elements of the overall project – please do reach out to us if you would like to have a chat.
