Date: 15 June 2019
Location: Taman Tugu
In collaboration with Ecoknights, HSBC Data Processing & Management (“HSBC”) held their Environmental Day at Taman Tugu today, from 8am – 2pm.
More than 250 staff from HSBC together with their families participated in various activities held throughout the day; the activities include:
- Guided Forest Trail Walks,
- Make a Seedbomb,
- Learn Black Soldier Fly Composting,
- Make a DIY Self-Watering System, and
- Make Natural Sugar Scrub
To add to the fun for the day, there was also a life-size Jenga game for all to play.
The aim of this day out in nature is for the staff to spend more time outdoors and to instill a sense of ownership and care towards the environment and act as a platform for people to be exposed to, respect, and value nature. This effort by HSBC is for their staff and families with the hope to get them to spend more time with nature which will eventually make them guardians of it.
In keeping true to the aim, lunch was served in reusable containers with reusable cutleries provided to educate them on reusing items, instead of throwing them away.
We would like to express our heartiest gratitude to HSBC for their donation in support of the Taman Tugu Project and conservation of public green spaces.
