Kiehl’s @ Taman Tugu

Date: 11 October 2019
Location: Taman Tugu

The Asia Pacific team from Kiehl’s,  in collaboration with EcoKnights, held their CSR day at Taman Tugu this morning.

More than 120 Kiehl’s employees from Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand gathered at Taman Tugu and built a jungle herb garden for Taman Tugu.

The jungle herbs include Daun Kadok, MiSai Kuching, Ulam Raja, Mas Coteh, and Lemongrass (Serai).

In addition to that, they donated 80 saplings of indigenous forest trees which they planted at the new Nursery trails which will be opened to the public on Taman Tugu Eco Day on 19th October 2019.

As part of their experience at Taman Tugu, they were also taken on a guided trail walk at the new Nursery trails. Before the session ended, they made seed bombs for them to take home to be plant.

To beat the heat and in keeping true to preserving the environment, vegan ice cream by Kelava was served throughout the event. The session ended with lunch being served from various food trucks.

The employees left Taman Tugu fulfilled that they have played their part to preserve and conserve Mother Earth.

The aim of this day out in nature is for the employees to spend more time outdoors and to instill a sense of ownership and care towards the environment and act as a platform for people to be exposed to, respect, and value nature. This effort by Kiehl’s for their employees to spend more time with nature will eventually make them guardians of it.

We would like to express our heartiest gratitude to Kiehl’s for their donation in support of the Taman Tugu Project and conservation of public green spaces.
