Even the Movement Control Order (“MCO”) did not stop us for celebrating Mother Nature. In conjunction with Earth Day this year, we held a 5-day Pocket Sessions series collaborating with Global Environment Centre, EcoKnights, Anak Rimba Books, Free Tree Society, and Greenpeace Malaysia. A variety of talks and workshops targeted to either adults, children, or the whole family were held online for members of the public to participate in.
The sessions were very well received with more than 130 people joining in the sessions. It was also very heartwarming and inspiring to see children actively participating in the adult sessions and asking many questions from rainwater harvesting, the use of fossil fuels to sustaining jobs.
We would like to thank all our partners and all of you for making the Taman Tugu Pocket Sessions a success. We hope that you and the children had an enjoyable and insightful experience learning about caring for our rivers, our gardens, our Earth, and ourselves.
We would also like to thank Think City (www.thinkcity.com.my) for collaborating with us to for the Earth Week. Although the Taman Tugu Pocket Sessions may be over, there are still many more webminars and film screening sessions organised by Think City over the weekend. Head over to their website for more information.
We would like to take the opportunity to wish you a Blessed Ramadan. May the spirit of Ramadan show us peace and harmony.
