Date: 13 March 2021
Location: Taman Tugu
On 13th March 2021 morning, Puspanita Ministry of International Trade and Industry (“MITI”) had organised a Hiking Programme in conjunction with the International Women’s Day 2021, which was celebrated worldwide on 8th March 2021. The programme was attended Puspanita MITI’s Patron, YBhg. Datin Seri Shamshida, Puspanita MITI members, MITI officials and staff.
The event kicked-off with some light breakfast followed by an opening speech by the Puspanita MITI’s Patron. YBhg. Datin Seri had spoken briefly about how women today are successfully tackling any challenges in their way especially in leadership roles and ended with words of encouragement and empowerment to the many “Wanita-wanita Hebat” (i.e. Awesome Women) in attendance. YBhg. Datin Seri then proceeded to present the 8 Merbau Saplings to Taman Tugu as well as a donation to Amanah Warisan Negara (“AWAN”), the Public Trust established as part of the Taman Tugu Project to manage the operations of the Taman Tugu park.
After a quick briefing on the Project, the attendees took part in a quick warm-up session before heading into the Nursery Trails while observing social distancing practices. The programme ended just before noon. Most of the attendees stayed back to continue exploring the Taman Tugu Main trails to further complete their day at the Park.
We would like to express our heartiest gratitude to Puspanita MITI for their donation and continued support towards the Taman Tugu Project and conservation of public green spaces.
